How to Make a Memorial Video

A practical guide to planning, preparing and reviewing an AI creation.

Decide what the video should preserve

Choose one person, relationship or place as the focus. Write a short intention, such as “remembering afternoons in the garden,” then select three to five relevant photographs. Record names, dates and locations from reliable records rather than inventing missing details.

Begin with a gentle shot

Keep the original files. Select a clear photograph and try image to video with slight environmental motion or a slow push-in instead of combining several gestures.

Preserve the person's appearance and the photograph's composition. Background leaves move gently, a slow camera push-in, soft natural light, no additional people or text.

This is a starting prompt, not an identity-preservation guarantee. Inspect faces, hands and newly introduced objects. A still photograph may be the better choice if animation changes an important detail.

Assemble the story in an editor

Combine photographs, short clips and brief captions into an opening, a memory and a closing. Add names, dates and quotations in your editor where they can be checked. Use appropriately licensed music and keep genuine recordings audible.

Review before sharing

Invite the people involved to review the selection and clearly identify AI-assisted moments. Do not present generated speech or actions as historical records. Dola offers general image-to-video generation, not an automatic memorial-film service.
